Vent Instructions

Here are some quick instructions for setting up and using vent. To get the most out of this program you will need a mic. However we encourage those who don't have mics to listen in on the fun.

<li> Download the vent client at <div style ="color: red"> http://www.ventrilo.com/dlprod.php?id=1</div> for 32-bit operating systems (xp), or <div style = "color:red"> <br> http://www.ventrilo.com/dlprod.php?id=4</div> for 64 bit operating systems (Vista). </li>

<li> Install the client program by double clicking the file you just downloaded </li>

<li> Open the program either by clicking the Ventrilo shortcut or Start -> All Programs -> Ventrilo -> Ventrilo </li>

<li> You will see a small window with 3 drop down boxes and 3 buttons marked "->". The first drop down is marked "User Name" click the button labeled "->" to the right or this drop down. This brings up another window click "new" and enter the name of your main character (failure to enter a proper user name may result in banning from chat). Click "Okay" Do not worry about the rest of this window simply click "Okay" again.</li>

<li> Click "->" to the right of "Server". This brings up a window Click "New" In the window that appers type "Horde's Nightmare". click "Okay". This returns you to the server window. In the text box labeled "Hostname or IP" type "vent.hordesnightmare.com". In the text box labeled "Port" type "4576". Click "Okay". </li>

<li> You should now be connected. If you are not click the button labeled "Connect". In the large text box you should see a list of all the players online. Now Open WoW as normal and play away. When u need to say something simply hold left ctrl, and you speck into your mic. </li>

To all our new members, first welcome to the guild. We are a laid back guild with very few rules. However there are some administrative procedures you should be aware of: <br> <br>

<ol>
<li>All new members (including alts) start and remain at the lowest rank (surf) for approximately one week.</li>
<li> Promotions are given on the weekend and are based on a character's contributions both to themselves and to his or her guildmates.</li>
<li> Request for runs of any sort should first be posted on this website's event calendar. All the H.N. members are busy, planning an event ahead of time, gives you a place in their schedule. Unplanned request are honored at the discretion of those online.</li>
<li> Access to the guild bank is based on rank. Each successive tab is requires a higher rank then the last. If you need something on a tab you don't have access to, please ask if your guildmates have extra in their inventory, before asking for the item out of the bank. 9 times out of 10 you will get what you need, this way.</li>
<li> The GM, is our king, targetfire. When he is online, his word is law.</li>

Horde's Nightmare is seeking active players of all styles. We would like to see the guild grow to epic proportions. So, EVERYONE needs to start spreading the gospel according to H.N. We have a large need for raiders of all classes. However the only "rules" for recruitment are: <br>  <br>

<ul> <li> 1.) When recruiting, simply tell people what you like about the guild, and how it benefits YOU PERSONALLY.
</li><br>
<li> 2.) Please, Please inform a guild member of rank duke or better of your efforts. This is to ensure your recruits' progress and promotions are handled in a timely fashion. </li>
</ul><br>
